The MWax Story

MWax is an Australian family-owned company founded by Renee and Brad Hiskins, combining decades of experience in massage therapy, rehabilitation, and business management.

The MWax story began when Brad, a massage therapist with the Australian Institute of Sport, decided it was time for a change after years of extensive travel—supporting elite athletes across five Olympic Games and two Commonwealth Games. In 2004, Brad and Renee opened their first massage clinic in Canberra with a small team of six therapists. As they sourced treatment products for their growing business, they discovered how limited the options were for high-quality, natural, and effective massage lubricants that met professional standards.

Determined to create something better, they began formulating their own massage wax—starting in their staff kitchen before expanding into a dedicated production facility. Working alongside qualified chemists and aromatherapists, they refined each formula to deliver the perfect balance of performance, purity, and skin compatibility.

What started as a small family project has grown into a trusted Australian brand, proudly supporting the massage and allied health community.

Today, MWax is the preferred choice across the Hiskins’ four rehabilitation clinics in Canberra and is used by an ever-expanding network of massage therapists, physiotherapists, and allied health professionals throughout Australia and beyond.

After recently starting a Remedial Massage business, I switched all carrier oils to MWAX. The wax is Amazing. The clients love the feel of the wax as treatments are administered in preference over vegetable oil, and tends to grip cups when using Functional Cupping. It's friendly to your towels and clothes post massage, and leaves your hands feeling fresh instead of greasy. Hotspot is brilliant pre-sport also, lasting far longer than any conventional heat rubs on the market.Highly recommended!
