Laminate a ‘what to consider’ run sheet to keep at your treatment room desk.

Use this to:

  • Remind yourself of all the aspects to consider when assessing a new patient (swelling, inflammation, hyper or hypo mobility, demographic, nerve component, etc)
  • When you get flustered in a session, use this to centre yourself and focus on the main points to consider
  • Design your treatment session on each finding
  • Write notes focusing on the aspects you considered and will reassess in a future session

 

Make time to learn each week:

  • Designate an hour each week, routinely, where you do nothing else but learn
  • Read over new research papers, listen to educational podcasts, watch online seminars or tutorials
  • This is a must if you want to grow and succeed!

 

Make time for your body each week:

  • Designate at least 2 sessions of 30 mins each week for therapist-specific strength and mobility
  • Non-negotiable
  • Postural strength/mobility, hip and pelvis strength/mobility, forearm strength/mobility
  • Adjust and edit with time and circumstances for a long, healthy career
